Greetings from down town Gurukul, Moranhat

To actualise these beautiful words “down town Charity Trust” took upon itself the humongous task of providing a “LEARNING CENTRE” at Moranhat by building the beautiful “down town Gurukul”. It is set up to give strength to the wings of our children to fly high.

The learning process is a beautiful thing. It is life-giving experience. A proper learning experience sets children up to grow personally, professionally, and socially. It also awakens joy, curiosity and a deep desire to solve problems and positively impact those around them. It helps learners to become better versions of themselves.

At down town Gurukul we are focusing on the kind of education by which “character is formed, strength of mind increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet. (Swami Vivekananda)”. For us to educate means is to address the Emotional, Social and above all the Spiritual aspect of personality. It is therefore we have made it our utmost responsibility to address hands, mind, heart and soul.
We strongly believe in:

• Educating the hands: Skills of hand and dignity of labour, equality of persons and different roles they play in fulfilling a dream.
• Educating the mind: Right attitude and right perspective. To change the way one sees and addresses the situation. To broaden the horizon and change the view point.
• Educating the heart: It is educating to value persons and relationships. The qualities that make us human and build human relationship and ultimately give us meaning in our lives. 
• Educating the Soul: We are spiritual persons. The depth of our spirituality defines our personalities. This gives education a very firm foundation on which life is developed. 

During the schooling every child is being prepared for the “future”. At down town Gurukul, Moranhat we would like to make the present more important and give the child a “holistic learning and growing mission” and make the childhood an enduring experience.
